Phenomena in Chroma
Painted from black and white images, this project was an exploration of images that I am related to but disconnected from. With reference to ideas of phenomenology, I aimed to explore the ‘phenomena’ and the sensory experience through the use of colour. The project responded to the research question of how it was possible for colour to move a painting from an image into a ‘moment in time’ or a ‘presence in time and space’.
